Merdeka Statement in Commemoration of Malaysia’s 50^th Anniversary of Independence

Sebahagian dari cadangan kertas tersebut dengan komen dalam tulisan biru/condong/italic:

¡       ONE, STRENGTHENING NATIONAL UNITY

Ini merupakan rentetan dari helah mereka sejak dahulu antaranya cadangan penubuhan IFC, desakkan mengubah artikel Perlembagaan 121(1A), dan pelbagai lagi:

(i)          The current National Unity Board (Jabatan Perpaduan Negara & Integrasi Nasional) should be expanded to include an independent National Unity Commission, which will be empowered to review legislations, policies and practices both in the Public and Private Sectors that impede on National Unity.  The proposed Commission should also be empowered to investigate complaints against racial and religious discriminations both in Government and the Private Sector.  The National Unity Commission should be answerable to Parliament.

(v)              All religious adherents should be ensured their freedoms to profess and practice their faiths in accordance with the Federal Constitution. Islam Hadhari, a national policy introduced in 2004 as a comprehensive and universal development framework for the nation, adheres to principles of a free and liberated people, protection of the rights of minority groups and universal values.

¡       TWO, ENHANCING NATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS

Di sini pula ialah usaha mereka untuk mengenepikan hak peribumi serta mengagalkan DEB (NEP) yang berusaha mengurangkan jurang monopoli sesuatu bangsa dalam ekonomi Negara.

*          While the New Economic Policy (NEP), established in 1970, has contributed significantly to the upward social mobility of the Bumiputera community, there is a need to re-evaluate its relevance for today’s economy, taking into consideration changing trends and global developments.

(v)       Equity conditions for Initial Public Offerings (IPO’s) should be removed and replace it with new mechanisms to maintain Bumiputera participation in the corporate sector such as:

Providing loans to Bumiputera investors to invest in IPO’s at discounted interest rates; (Satu usaha untuk terus menggunakan bumiputera menjadi Ali Baba dan seterusnya mengikat bumiputera terus berhutang)

¡       THREE, CREATING AN INNOVATION ECONOMY

¡       FOUR, REDRESSING IMBALANCES

(iii)        The Civil Service should reflect the ethnic diversity of Malaysia, and no one group should have be under or over-represented. To this end, more non-Malays should be urgently recruited into the civil service. Positive discrimination such as promotional exercises should be implemented over a fixed period of time, in favour of non-Malay officers.  All civil servants should be given an incentive for career advancement, in order to attract lateral transfers from the private sector.

(iii)             Ethnic, religious and gender discrimination within both the private and public sectors should be discouraged.

¡       FIVE, STRENGTHENING INSTITUTIONS

Dalam bertopengkan menjaga hak lain-lain pihak mereka berhasrat menarik dan menyekat hak orang Islam.

(ii)         While acknowledging the religion of Islam as the official religion of the nation, should continue to protect the legitimate interests of Malaysians professing other faiths as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

(vi)             The protection of Human Rights should be further enhanced by ratifying the UN Convention on Political and Civil Rights, the UN Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and SUHAKAM’s Annual Report, besides being tabled in Parliament, should be debated by Parliament.

(vii)             Proposals from the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) should be tabled and debated by Parliament. The CEDAW Convention should also be incorporated into domestic legislation so that treaty provisions can be invoked and given effect to by the courts, tribunals and administrative authorities.

(viii)    A gender equality law should be enacted that can address problems in the constitution with regard to the guarantee for equality. A Gender Anti-Discrimination Commission with power to advise the government, hear complaints and deliver decision and guidelines on gender equality should also be established.

¡       SIX, REFORMING EDUCATION

Maka tercicir lagilah anak bangsa kita dengan cadangan-cadangan mereka ini

¡       SEVEN, PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Yang banyak merosakkan alam sekitar ialah tauke-tauke Cina dalam pembalakkan yang menggunkan orang-orang Melayu dan pihak istana, serta tauke-tauke kilang-kilang haram termasuk yang syarikat-syarikat di bursa saham milik mereka.

¡       EIGHT, ENHANCING GOVERNANCE, FIGHTING CORRUPTION

Kalau tidak ada yang memberi maka tidak ada yang akan dapat. Akhirnya tidak ada lagi yang hendak meminta. Kalau dah disorong bantal .... apa lagi? Adat serta budaya mereka yang telah banyak merosakkan orang Islam/Melayu yang belum pernah kenal erti rasuah yang haram itu sebelum ketibaan mereka yang amat materialistik matlamat hidup mereka.

         *       We condemn Corruption as Evil, an unnecessary cost of doing business that must be eliminated.  As such there must be greater and more determined efforts to stamp out corruption in government and business.

         *        We believe in greater accountability and transparency in all sectors.
